On the eve of November 17th – World Prematurity Day and the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the University Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pivara Skopje provided a donation that fully equipped the peripartum intensive care unit in this public healthcare institution.
The donation consists of special hospital beds with anti-decubitus mattresses from renowned manufacturers, linens and medical-purpose furniture comprising of nightstands and shelves for patients and a front desk for the medical staff. The Ministry of Health and the management of the Clinic emphasized that this equipment is necessary for improving the level of maternity care in the intensive care unit.
“Our commitment to donate to healthcare needs is sincere and in the long-term. It is due to our desire to allocate some of the company’s revenues to activities that are important for the whole community. We are particularly happy and satisfied when these funds go into providing good conditions for treatment and healthcare for mothers and babies, thus contributing to ensuring healthy generations and a sustainable future for all,” said Lambro Patche, Public Affairs and Communications Manager at Pivara Skopje.
With this investment, Pivara Skopje joined the donation campaign of the University Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics under the motto “All of us, friends of babies”, which is also supported by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.
“Such donations are an example that together, the state and the private sector, we can contribute to resolving the most pressing problems of the citizens. I am pleased that there are positive examples in our country, such as today’s donation of Pivara Skopje, where we can see a socially responsible company that provides direct assistance for improving the conditions in the Intensive Care Unit, where mothers will be cared for after delivering their newborns”, said the President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Zoran Zaev.
The Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Skopje is the only university medical institution of its kind in the country that provides the highest level of healthcare and treats the most complicated cases in the field of gynecology and obstetrics, while at the same time performing educational activity and scientific research work. Staff at the Clinic performs up to 6,000 deliveries, as well as over 50,000 specialist and sub-specialist examinations and interventions annually.
“Due to the place, the role and the great importance of our Clinic for the healthcare system of the Republic of Macedonia, it is necessary to constantly upgrade it, keep up to date with the latest medical achievements and to provide appropriate standards for treatment and care of patients.
