EBRD evoke green energy investment in Northern Macedonia with 4 million EUR earmarked for Ohridska Banka AD Skopje. The funds will support energy efficiency improvements in residential buildings, help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve householders quality of life. Funding comes from the Green Energy Support Program, and the funds will be further borrowed to support private households’ investments in green technologies, materials and measures such as water heaters, windows and lighting. Buildings in the country are in urgent need of renovation and insulation, which will lower energy consumption costs and improve comfort.
Ohridska Banka is a fully-owned subsidiary of the French banking group Société Générale and a long-standing partner of the EBRD in the Macedonian economy. The Green Energy Support Program in Northern Macedonia is part of the 85 Million Euro Green Support Program (SEP) for the Balkans, launched in 2017.
