EVN signed a memorandum of understanding with the electro-technical high school “Mihajlo Pupin” from Skopje. This memorandum sets the conditions for forming of a special, 25 students class with vocational training supported by EVN. The intention is to improve the educational process, the curriculum and the practical work in order the students to be engaged in the work process directly already during their secondary education.
“The signing of this memorandum opens a new page in the vocational education in the Republic of Macedonia. EVN is an example of how the youth and the educational process should be directly supported”, said Eftim Pejovski, director of SETUSG “Mihajlo Pupin”. “This is an offer for the young people which no one has offered before. Тo enroll in a school, graduate successfully and have a well paid job position in an eminent company such as EVN waiting for you. It can be done simply by enrolling in the course for electricians and electro fitters in the 2017/2018 school year in the electro-technical high school “Mihajlo Pupin”, Pejovski added.
“With the Project 20-20-20, EVN Macedonia offers a unique chance for young students in Macedonia: In the year 2020, EVN will employ 20 high-school students right after completing their high school studies, with a guaranteed net-salary of MKD 20.000,- per month”, Stefan Peter, Chairman of the Management Board of EVN Macedonia says.
“There is a demand of skilled workforce so we need to offer attractive jobs with perspective. Starting as electro fitter in EVN doesn´t mean to do this job forever, but can also be the beginning of a career as specialist or project engineer.”
According to the cooperation agreement, the students in the EVN class will take their practical work lessons in the premises of the company and in the field under the mentorship of professionals working in EVN. This follows the principles of the so called dual vocational education and training which is a success story in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
