Makedonski Telekom continues its successful operations in the third quarter of 2019 as well. The Company achieved growth of the net profit and increased its sales revenues compared to the same period last year. Makedonski Telekom continue to record an increase in the number of mobile and internet users and is strengthening their leadership position in the TV segment. The positive performance of the Company which continues in the third quarter confirms that Makedonski Telekom is on the path to achieve sustainable growth by setting expectations about future operation at a higher level.
Sales revenues of Makedonski Telekom in the first nine months of 2019, compared to the previous year, increased by 2.2% and amount to MKD 7,937 million. Earnings before income, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the same period increased by 5.3% compared to the previous year, whereas the net profit increased by 9.6%
At the end of the first nine months of 2019 Makedonski Telekom increased the number of customers in all segments. With the 1.8% increase of the post-paid customer base, the total number of customers in the mobile segment reached 1,258 thousand. The broadband internet customer base increased by 4.0% and reached a total of 200.4 thousand.
Makedonski Telekom remains a leader in the TV segment with a continuously increasing number of customers (including Magenta 1, Internet & TV and other TV services), which at the end of the first nine months of 2019 resulted in customer base of 133.5 thousand. MaxTV remained customer’s first choice due to the quality, exclusive contents, unlimited possibilities for interaction, as well as the unique TV experience. Furthermore, with the new Magenta 1 digital concept, launched in the third quarter this year, the users of our largest family can activate additional options, free of charge, each month, depending on their needs, for a simpler and smarter day-to-day life.
