At a time when economies are rapidly evolving and the demand for skilled talent continues to grow, the role of higher education is becoming increasingly central to long-term competitiveness and sustainable development. Recognizing both the opportunities and the challenges within the current system, AmCham North Macedonia has developed a position paper aimed at supporting the advancement of higher education and strengthening quality assurance mechanisms. The paper reflects insights from the business community, where access to qualified workforce remains a key concern, and highlights the need for stronger alignment between academic institutions and labor market demands. In this context, AmCham underlines the importance of inclusive and structured dialogue among all stakeholders, as a foundation for building a modern, responsive, and future-ready higher education system that can effectively support economic growth and innovation.
