AmCham Position Paper on Draft Law on Scientific and Research Activity

As the reform momentum in the education sector continues to open a critical policy window, AmCham North Macedonia has further contributed with a position paper focused on the draft Law on Scientific Research Activity, recognizing its central role in shaping a more competitive and innovation-driven economy. Building on earlier recommendations in higher education, this paper highlights the need for a coherent and well-coordinated framework that clearly connects research with innovation and business application, addressing existing gaps between academia and the private sector. At a time when the economy increasingly depends on knowledge transfer, technological advancement, and stronger collaboration, AmCham emphasizes that aligning legislation, institutional roles, and funding mechanisms is essential to unlock the full potential of scientific research and ensure it translates into real economic value and sustainable growth.
