Call For Establishing ESG Committee

Dear Members,

AmCham’s role as a harbinger of change is an integral part of our advocacy activities and with this call, we would like to emphasize it by inviting you to join the ESG Committee – the first knowledge-sharing platform of this type in the country.

ESG is the acronym for Environmental, Social and Governance, and refers to the three categories that enable businesses to measure the real sustainable and societal impact of their outputs. ESG is a response to the growing demand for transparency on sustainable and socially responsible practices in corporate management.

ESG is the successor of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concept, but these two concepts are not the same. CSR is ideal and gives context about sustainability agendas and corporate responsibility culture, while the ESG is measured, quantifiable and criteria-led, which provides more valuable insights and creates long-term value for all stakeholders.

The Committee’s General Mission will be to increase awareness of the ESG fundamentals through sharing best practices for a healthy socio-economic environment and focus on the core components of good governance in developing strategies that bring forth green growth and the development of a circular economy.

The working language of the Committee will be agreed upon between the members. If the working language is other than English, the Executive Office will prepare an English version of their key documents.

Any individual employed by our member companies, who is willing to commit to fulfilling the Committee’s mission, please fill out the Form below, no later than November 15th, 2021.

Dates for the kick-off meetings will be announced at the earliest possible convenience and in coordination with the Committee members.

AmCham looks forward to working more closely with you to support and advance the interests of the U.S., international and leading local businesses in North Macedonia, and to promote the competitiveness of the country.
