Stopanska Banka is Extended a New Financing to Support Small Businesses

On May 31, 2022, Stopanska Banka Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Diomidis Nikoletopoulos and EBRD President Ms. Odile Renaud-Basso signed a €4 million loan agreement in Skopje. Stopanska Banka is extended a new financing, which will benefit small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in North Macedonia, boosting their investments in high performance standards, technologies and services, and enabling them to become more competitive. It should also allow small firms to reboot their businesses following the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the same time, the programme will aid the expansion of the green economy in North Macedonia by promoting investments in energy efficiency improvements. Around 70 per cent of programme funding will be allocated to investments in energy-saving and green technologies, while the remainder will support investments in automation, increased productivity, product quality and safety.

SMEs will also benefit from grant incentives worth up to 15 per cent of their loan amount, funded by the United States of America, Luxembourg and Norway.
