AmCham Trade Mission – Business Beyond Borders


AmCham North Macedonia and AmCham Greece, with assistance and support of the US Embassies in Skopje and Athens – have organized their first Trade Mission titled “Business Beyond Borders” for companies from Republic of Greece and Republic of North Macedonia. The two-day event was visited from approximately 60 representatives of the Macedonian and Greek business community and about 40 (B2B and B2G) meetings were held.

An integral part of the Forum of the Trade Mission Event was a Presentation and Q&A session on investment opportunities available in our country, moderated by the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia. As part of the Trade Mission, direct B2B meetings were organized between companies from Greece and North Macedonia that operate in several different sectors. Visits to our member companies Pivara, and ARC Automotive within TIDZ Bunardzik were made.


On March 21 & 22, 2022, AmCham North Macedonia will be hosting the first Trade Mission jointly organized with the American – Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.   

The “Business Beyond Borders” Trade Mission is the product of an intensified cooperation between the two AmChams and their mutual efforts to broaden bilateral relations of the two countries especially in terms of developing trade relations and enhancing the economic potential of the business community. This initiative has also received the support of the U.S. Embassy for broadening bilateral relations among both countries with the confirmed attendance of their respective representatives at the event.

The main goal is to explore the possibilities for new investment opportunities of direct investments to our country, increasing bilateral trade and establishing collaboration between businesses through organized B2B meetings between company representatives from both neighboring countries.

The focus of the trade mission will be placed on the following key industry sectors:

  • Energy,
  • Technology / Innovation,
  • Manufacturing & Production,
  • Logistics,
  • Infrastructure,
  • Construction, and
  • Agrotechnology. 

This two-day event will involve prominent representatives of state institutions of both states, esteemed diplomats from the United States Embassies in Skopje and Athens, as well as representatives of the business communities in Greece and North Macedonia.  

The first day of the event will include a panel discussion about the business climate in the region, exploring the potentials for trade cooperation between the two countries, and an overview of the investment opportunities in the Republic of North Macedonia.

The second day will be reserved for exploring the potential for cooperation between businesses of both countries in a form of B2B meetings, followed by a site visit to Skopje Free Trade Zone, where the largest number of foreign investments in our country are located. 

This Trade Mission, as a way to enhance the trade between North Macedonia and Greece, will provide a unique opportunity for business matchmaking between the companies.
