The event marks the public closing event of the project “Assessment of ESG Integration in the Private Sector in North Macedonia.” implemented by AmCham North Macedonia and Insider ID with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The project is join initiative of AmCham North Macedonia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The research, examines how Macedonian companies understand, adopt, and implement Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and how these practices influence business competitiveness, investor confidence, and alignment with EU sustainability standards.
This project is part of EBRD’s broader commitment to strengthening SME capacities and promoting sustainable economic transition through market development activities, implemented in partnership with AmCham North Macedonia.
The event will bring together representatives of the business community, chambers, ministries, academia, and media to discuss the findings, share practical experiences, and inspire further ESG adoption among Macedonian companies.
The presentation will aim to:
- Disseminate the findings of the ESG Analysis, providing a comprehensive overview of ESG awareness, adoption levels, and integration challenges among Macedonian companies.
- Highlight key motivators and barriers to ESG implementation identified through both quantitative and qualitative research;
- Encourage stronger integration of ESG principles in company strategies and value chains to improve competitiveness, access to finance, and readiness for the EU Single Market;
- Promote dialogue between businesses, policymakers, and academia to support evidence-based policymaking and sustainability initiatives;
- Showcase practical company experiences that demonstrate how ESG drives growth, reputation, and operational efficiency.
