Presentation of the platform Site Siti with Blaze Josifovski, Organization’s President
On July 9, as part of our Social Marketplace initiative, AmCham held an info session with Blaze Josfiovski about the platform for redistribution of food surplus – Site Siti (Everyone Fed).
Site Siti is a platform designed to connect food providing entities with the civic sector to facilitate the donation and redistribution of food surplus to people in need. The net gathers 31 civic organizations, across 10 cities in the country, helping roughly to 7.000 people.
According to the evidence of the State Statistical Office, in 2017 the country had 450.000 people who suffer from lack of food. On the other hand, annually 10t of safe food worth in amount of 15 million euros, ends up as waste.
The goal of this presentation was to learn first-hand about the ways how companies can get involved in the efforts to reduce food waste and support those who are food insecure.
