TOPICS

The goal of this panel discussion is to examine the broader human, economic, and social costs that arise when healthcare system struggles in responding effectively. Rather than focusing on shortcomings, the discussion will highlight critical barriers that limit efficiency and resilience and explore how overcoming them can help shift from a reactive to a proactive model of healthcare delivery.

The goal of this panel discussion is to present models for expanding access to healthcare services, with a particular focus on medicines, as well as sharing good practices in that regard such as decentralization, the role of public-private partnerships, but also topics on regulatory and logistical challenges would be touched on.

The goal is to emphasize the implications of failing to advance interoperability within the healthcare sector, not establishing patient registries, or ignoring the existence of isolated data sets within the system, which even the institutions that possess this data cannot use. This has a negative consequence both on diagnostics and on decision-making and creating public policies. These are challenges that can be overcome by digitalization and using technologies.

This session is all about how healthcare is more than just a budget item. The focus here is value-based healthcare as a tool for measurement and avoiding the silent and accumulating price of inaction, which is greatly represented by the non-recognition that it is an investment. The inaction addressed here is the fact that healthcare is still not recognized as an investment, and promoting value-based healthcare as an approach can contribute to shifting the mindset.

The discussion will focus on the introduction of the Healthcare Media Academy and the crucial role of journalists in strengthening and advancing the healthcare system emphasizing.

The closing panel is designed to foster concrete commitments from all stakeholders. To support this goal, a preparatory workshop will be organized ahead of the conference where participants will be divided into groups to identify the next steps actionable. The outcomes of this workshop will be presented and discussed during the panel.
