Organized by AmCham North Macedonia and AmCham Serbia, in partnership with AmCham Albania and AmCham Kosovo, the AmChams Regional ESG Conference: Building Resilience in a Changing World will take place on June 4, 2025, at Hotel Hilton, Skopje.

The conference will focus on the role of the business community in leading efforts to address major regional challenges related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, while also highlighting the strategic opportunities that come with integrating sustainable principles into business operations.

This regional gathering will bring together business leaders and key stakeholders from across the Western Balkans.

SEBASTIAN DUNNETT

Senior Programme Officer,

Mr. Dunnett is a nature scientist at UNEP-WCMC, a global centre of excellence on biodiversity, working at the interface of science, policy and practice to help tackle the global nature crisis. He has a PhD in renewable energy and biodiversity and over ten years of experience in environmental research, policy, and advocacy.

DEJAN VALENTICIC

Head of the Centre for Social Science Research @ American Slovenian Education Foundation

Dejan Valentinčič is an associate professor of constitutional law and political science at New University, Ljubljana, where he also serves as vice-dean of the Faculty of Slovenian and International Studies. He is also a researcher and Head of the Centre for Social Science Research at the American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF). From 2020 to 2022, he served as State Secretary at the Government Office for Slovenians Abroad, and from 2018 to 2020, he was a personal adviser to two ministers at the same office. During this time, he also chaired the government working group for the repatriation of Slovenians from Venezuela and was a member of the working group on economic migration to Slovenia. Between 2019 and 2021, he led the research project Mitigating the Consequences of Brain Drain and Strengthening the Mechanism of Brain Circulation, and from 2022 to 2024, he directed the research project Digital Transformation of the Slovenian Emigrant Community in the United States of America and Canada.

Katja is an international expert in business integrity, anti-corruption, and governance, with over 15 years of experience leading global, business-focused initiatives at the World Economic Forum and Transparency International. She has advised organizations such as UNITAR and USAID on anti-corruption strategies and public-private partnerships and has successfully led numerous multi-stakeholder initiatives. Katja has also held several leadership roles with the Business 20 (B20), the official business engagement group of the G20. A seasoned speaker and recognized thought leader, she brings deep expertise and a global perspective to advancing ethical business practices.
