German cable and wire manufacturer Kromberg & Schubert has partly restarted production at its plant in Bitola, North Macedonia, after more than a month-long suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak, local media reported on Monday.
About 1,000 of the plant’s total workforce of 6,000 has returned to work after the company received orders for its automotive wire harnesses from the Mercedes-Benz plants in Germany and Spain, local daily Nova Makedonija reported on Monday.
The company plans to resume full operations gradually, according to the needs of its clients.
Kromberg & Schubert started operations in North Macedonia in 2013. The company manufactures wire harnesses for Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Skoda, BMW and Porsche, among others.
