For a fourth consecutive year, OKTA will award full scholarships for postgraduate studies to the students at UKIM. The company has signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University of Skopje for continuing the long-lasting support of the oldest state University. As part of its corporate socially responsible strategy, OKTA’s goal is to encourage students to invest in their own education and professional development, which will contribute to the creation of highly educated and qualified staff, who will be the main driver for the development of the country.
“OKTA remains fully committed to supporting the education and connect the academic community with the entrepreneurship in the country. Although the COVID-19 crisis has had a negative impact on almost every business, as a socially responsible company, we have decided to continue the tradition of awarding postgraduate scholarships. We believe that in this way we will help the talented and ambitious students to upgrade their education, because the current crisis has shown us that investing in new knowledge is essential”, said Vuk Radovic, the Chief Executive Officer of OKTA.
The company will award five scholarships at three faculties, that are close and related to OKTA’s core business – Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (Institute of Chemistry). Eligible candidates for the scholarships are the students who will apply for the first time on the one-year postgraduate studies in the first enrolment period of the academic year 2020/2021.
“We are particularly proud that the cooperation with the business sector, as one of our main strategic goals, occurs successfully even at a time when we are facing the corona virus crisis. Of course, we constantly strive to provide high-quality education to our students having in mind this is the best way we can contribute in building successful young people who will be driving the future development of the country and the society”, stated Prof. Dr. Nikola Jankulovski, Rector of UKIM.
