OKTA through its scholarship program continued to support the education and the new generations in the country, even in times of crisis and great challenges. As part of its corporate socially responsible strategy, the company on November 19 OKTA awarded five full scholarships to the most successful students at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius”. The program is implemented for a fourth year in a row. This year two scholarships were awarded at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies and the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, while one student received scholarship at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (Institute of chemistry).
Following the protocols for protection against the COVID-19 pandemic, this year, the traditional visit of the company was replaced with an online meeting that was held in presence of the scholarship winners and the Chief Executive Officer of OKTA, Mr. Vuk Radovic.
“We had no dilemma whether to proceed with our scholarship program since we are aware that investment in the next generations and advancement of their knowledge and skills are always the right decision. Our prime goal is to encourage and motivate the honor students to continue their education and thus uphold their eagerness to innovate and explore. After all, the quality education is one of the most important prerequisites for the future economic development of the country. Therefore, OKTA will continue to make strong efforts in supporting this process”, said Radovic.
Supporting education is one of the pillars of OKTA’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. In the past four years, the company has awarded a total of 35 scholarships for postgraduate studies at the state University, as well as seven scholarships for the second cycle of studies at Universities in Greece. Additionally, OKTA contributes to the professional development of young people through its internship program that was undergone by a significant number of students over the past period.
