The Public Revenue Office (PRO) awarded the company Philip Morris Tutunski Kombinat Prilep DOO Skopje (an affiliate of PMI in Macedonia) for showing a high degree of tax culture in 2020. The PRO award, which recognizes the regular servicing of tax liabilities, extremely important for the stability and liquidity of the state budget, is given to companies with high tax culture in the framework of the celebration of November 29 – Tax Workers’ Day.
The company Philip Morris TKP, as a joint company of the tobacco giant Philip Morris International (PMI) and Tutunski Kombinat Prilep, fully applies and follows the principles of work of PMI, which include social responsibility, strict observance of tax regulations and regular servicing of the liabilities to the state, but also to business partners.
At the award ceremony, Mihael Solter, General Manager of PMTKP stressed that the role of the PRO is very important and stressed that Philip Morris applies high standards of work and requires companies with which he cooperates to meet the same standards, including in terms of compliance of tax liabilities. He also stressed that Philip Morris sees the PRO as a partner in terms of resolving issues related to tax operations.
Tax Workers’ Day has been celebrated since 1997 in order to pay attention to tax workers from the Public Revenue Office, the Customs Administration and other tax services in providing financial resources for the functioning of the state. This year, due to the pandemic with Covid-19, the celebration of the holiday is organized online, and the companies that received such recognition had a meeting with the director of the PRO, Ms. Sanja Lukarevska.
