OKTA will provide 1300 rapid tests for detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus, intended for the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Skopje. The tests will aid in fast identification of the presence of corona virus, which allows to accelerate the overall treatment of the patients and helps to effectively prevent the further spreading of the infection.
The latest donation of OKTA related to the combat against the COVID-19 pandemic, has been agreed in coordination with the Ministry of Health, and is in line with their assessments of the priorities of the health system.
“This is the third donation of ОКТА to the Clinic for Infectious Diseases since the beginning of the pandemic. We are aware that only through continuous support and joint efforts we can contribute to more efficient overcoming of the health crisis that has a negative impact on all of us. With the procurement of the tests for rapid detection of the virus, we remain dedicated to the society as the main pillar of OKTA’s CSR strategy”, said Vuk Radovic Chief Executive Officer of OKTA.
The new amount of tests augments OKTA’s previous donation of 3.000 serologic tests that were also intended for the needs of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases as a health institution that bears the largest burden of the pandemic by treating the highest number of COVID-19 patients.
“The support we constantly receive from the business sector in the country is of supreme importance for the healthcare system in dealing with the pandemic. OKTA was among the first donors of medical equipment since the beginning of the crisis, and by providing these rapid tests they reaffirmed their status of a socially responsible company”, said the Minister of Health, Venko Filipche.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, OKTA has implemented several donor projects aimed at reducing the consequences of the health crisis, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program. Namely, during the last year the company procured necessary medical equipment, as well as serological tests for the Infectious Diseases Clinic, while at the beginning of the new school year 30 laptops and 10,000 protective masks were donated for the needs of the primary schools in the Municipality of Ilinden.
