Applications: OPEN

AmCham North Macedonia
In collaboration with M6 Educational Center

The Healthcare Hub is an educational platform launched by AmCham North Macedonia through its Healthcare Committee. Its mission is to enable practical knowledge-sharing and build capacity among all stakeholders in the healthcare system.

Through topic-focused training programs, the Hub addresses key issues in regulation, innovation, public policy, and access to healthcare.

The Healthcare Media Academy – Rare Diseases Track is the first pilot training under this initiative. It is designed for media professionals reporting on healthcare and societal issues and is implemented in partnership with M6 Educational Center.

Healthcare is one of the most complex and sensitive sectors to report on – and often underrepresented in the media. This program provides journalists with practical knowledge, expert access, and real-world insights to help them report more effectively on healthcare topics.

The training is based on rare disease case studies, which serve as a gateway to understanding broader systemic challenges in healthcare. The approach is hands-on, relevant, and directly applicable to journalistic work.

Each session combines theory and practice, with a strong emphasis on patient experiences and the roles of institutions and policymakers. Key topics include:

  1. Structure and Legal Framework of the Healthcare System
  2. Medicines and Public Financing Mechanisms
  3. Budgeting and Public Procurement in Healthcare
  4. The Role of Data and Digitalization
  5. Access to Services and Patient Rights

Each session connects theoretical insight with practical experience, highlighting the patient journey, the role of institutions, and the impact of policy decisions.
