Healthcare Task Force Meets with the Health Advisor to the Prime Minister

AmCham Healthcare Task Force held a meeting with prof. Dr. Ana Daneva-Markova, a Health Advisor to the President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, on February 24, 2022.

The Healthcare Task Force’s goals were presented during the meeting, emphasizing the need to improve access to innovative medicines and medical devices. In this regard, the necessity for unlocking the processes for determination and adoption of the positive list of medicines was discussed. Accordingly, establishing a functional and well-defined system for regular and transparent updates to the positive list was noted.

Stakeholder consultation in the public policymaking in the healthcare sector was also mentioned. It was noted that a regulatory environment created on the basis of constructive collaboration between the public and private sectors could be one of the critical elements to developing the healthcare sector.

Recent challenges in the healthcare sector related to the health crisis caused by a pandemic were also discussed. It was highlighted that intensifying the activities and proactive endeavors to protect and improve the health of the population is of foremost mutual priority.

The Healthcare Task Force affirms its willingness to be at the disposal of the Government for any issues related to the healthcare sector where their expertise and experience may be of value.
